Medical Students
We are actively involved in training medical students from Warwick University Medical School. They are primarily in the practice to learn more about communication skills. In order to become good doctors they particularly need practice at listening to patients, trying to work out problems and then discussing with patients what possible solutions might be. They will be supervised by one of the doctors from the practice. Occasionally, consultations are video-recorded to aid doctor or student learning, but this is voluntary and only follows informed consent by patients. Please accept them as part of our team but please tell the receptionist if you would prefer the student not to be present during your consultation. When these students are in the practice you will be informed if they are sitting in with the doctor you are due to see. The consultation may occasionally be videoed for training purposes with your consent. Should you not wish the medical student to be present please let the receptionist know immediately. There is no obligation for you to be seen with a medical student present.
